Click on the image above to watch my first contact with TJ this morning.
Yesterday I talked about how fearful he is and I thought using a lapel microphone would give you a better idea about how TJ is feeling.
You can see that he is going through the movements, inside and outside turning exactly where asked but I am sure you can also see his high level of anxiety. This is typical of my first contact each morning with TJ and he does improve/relax to some degree with subsequent short sessions.
Each horse is an individual and while I have never come across a horse remotely like this one, it is this type of horse that led me away from starting horses for a living and into teaching people to train their own horses.
Different people would approach this horse in different ways and it not for me to say whether that is right or wrong. All I can do is what I feel is best for the horse at any particular moment in time.
Look at the photo above - this is the spirit, the life, the movement that I am trying so hard to preserve in this horse.
Thank you TJ for being such a patient teacher!
